Change UR Mind wins National Service User Awards 2015

Change UR Mind, the North East mental health youth board, has won the Reducing Stigma/Tackling Discrimination category at the National Service User Awards 2015, held at Silverstone racecourse on 12 March.

The awards celebrate the large number of service user led initiatives in inpatient services nationwide. The National Service User Awards are designed to recognise the achievements of individuals and the initiatives implemented on a local and national level.

Celebrating the their third anniversary this year, Change UR Mind includes over 100 members aged 11-25 and aims to provide support, guidance and representation to young people living in the North East who have, or know someone who has, mental health issues.

“It’s such a fantastic feeling to walk away with the award,” said Jack Wilson, 17, who works on the project, “To be shortlisted in the first place was great, considering we were nominated alongside such great projects.”
