Change UR Mind is a mental health youth board for the North East. The board, which includes over 100 members, aims to provide support, guidance and representation to young people living in the North East between the ages of 11-25 years who have, or know someone who has, mental health issues.
The project is being delivered by Youth Focus: North East in partnership with YoungMinds, and was originally funded by the Clinical Innovations Team (NHS North East).
Change UR Mind has its own website www.changeurmind.org.uk which includes news, events and information on mental health problems. It also features a directory of organisations that provide some kind of support to young people in the North East.
In 2013, the group received national recognition for their work, winning in the Health and Wellbeing category at the NCVYS Young Partners Awards. Earlier this year the group also won the award for Reducing Stigma and Tackling Discrimination at the National Service User Awards 2015.
