SITE: 100 Places

A project bringing together heritage and digital technology

SITE 100 Places is a project funded by Heritage Lottery Fund and delivered in partnership between Northern Architecture and Youth Focus: North East.

The aim of the programme is to work with a group of young people to develop their knowledge and understanding of heritage and digital technology.

The young people involved in the project will narrow down a list of 100 heritage locations and places to just three. They will then work alongside a digital designer to create a digital resource tool. It is hoped that the tool will inspire other young people and members of the public to visit these iconic heritage sites.

Through their involvement with the project, young people will explore the fascinating history of the North East and will gain hands-on experience in using cutting edge technologies. They will also develop skills around consulting with members of the community, putting a creative brief together, recruiting a digital design team and working alongside them as the product is finished.

The group are also working towards an Arts Award qualification and in autumn 2015 a launch event will see the finished digital tool unveiled to the local arts, culture and digital community.
