DemYouth takes off with first session

On Saturday 13 June, the first DemYouth meeting took place at Youth Focus: North East’s offices and offered an opportunity for the young people involved to meet each other and to get some initial thoughts on how to take the dementia project forward.

The DemYouth project comprises Open Lab, Newcastle University and Youth Focus: North East and supports a group of young people as they create a digital app to promote better communication between young people and elderly relatives with dementia.

Funding was granted through the Economic and Social Research Council and through the Summer the young people will work with designers from Open Lab to create an app which will be launched later in the year. If you would like more information about this project contact [email protected].
