Sarah Warren joined the Youth Focus: North East team in December 2017 after a number of years working for the voluntary sector in Newcastle.
Originally from West Yorkshire, Sarah came to the North East to do degree in Social Policy at Newcastle University. She started her career in youth work after getting a job as a part time worker at a project run by Newcastle YMCA. She continued working for this organisation for a number of years being mainly based in neighbourhood youth projects in the Walker and Byker areas of Newcastle.
Sarah brings a wealth of centre based and detached youth work experience to the team here, alongside further roles in operational and programme management.
Sarah currently co-ordinates the Big Days programme – a Co-Operative Foundation programme addressing loneliness and isolation focused on certain events throughout the year. Sarah is also involved in some of our wider programmes around loneliness and isolation, running Fast Friends drop-in activities on a Wednesday evening, and exploring rural and urban isolation in Durham.
Sarah has recently invested in a pair of walking boots and intends to spend more of her spare time exploring the outdoors.
