Pupils from Heaton Manor School in Newcastle worked hard over the last few weeks as they planned an intergenerational afternoon of activities for the local community which took place on Tuesday 19 July.
As well as providing an astonishing buffet, the students also ran a quiz, raffled prizes, held a bingo session, put together a through-the-ages activity, and had music from throughout the decades.
There was also entertainment from the incredibly talented singer Emma – also a young member of the planning group – and Clogs the Clown, who entertained with his plate-spinning and magic tricks.
Members of the community who attended the event have since been in touch with the school, thanking the pupils for all of their hard work and for making the event run so smoothly on the day.
The event has led to the pupils forging new positive relationships with others in their local community.
