On Monday 31 March, Teenage Kicks debuted on the silver screen in Newcastle.
Teenage Kicks has been a year-long project involving the production of a 30-minute film entirely researched, filmed and edited by a group of young people aged 13- 25.
From Teddy Boys, Mods and Rockers and Punks through to Skinheads and the infamous rave scene of the 1990s, Teenage Kicks looks at how these different youth sub-cultures have been documented by the media of their time, and in turn, how they were rightfully or unjustly perceived by wider society.
The documentary premiered at the Tyneside Cinema to an audience of over 40 specially invited guests. The screening was a huge success, with the group receiving positive feedback from the film-goers.
The film will be available online and to download in the near future for everyone to view and share – look out for further updates!
