Teenage Kicks

A film project exploring the portrayal of young people in the media since World War 2

Project News

Teenage Kicks was a one-year film project co-ordinated by Youth Focus: North East, and funded by Heritage Lottery Fund.

The project was entirely youth led and involved the production of a feature length documentary examining the portrayal of young people in the media across each of the decades since World War 2. It culminated with free public screenings of the documentary in both Newcastle and Stockton in early 2014.

Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums also supported the project, enabling the young people involved to access archived footage, photographs, articles and personal accounts.
