Youth Focus: North East works closely with local authorities, voluntary organisations and regional bodies to support the development of best practice for services to young people.

Our organisation has built up an enviable track record of service delivery, practise development and network support over the years and has worked with a significant number of organisations and individuals in the region who work directly with, or manage services delivered to, young people.

Voluntary Sector Organisations

We have worked with a number of voluntary sector organisations and funders to shape their service design and delivery. This training and consultancy service is bespoke and can be delivered to senior management or direct delivery staff. Our partners have included The Sage Gateshead, Heritage Lottery Fund, Arts Council, Gateshead Young Carers.

Local Authorities and Public Sector

More and more, young people are being identified as a discrete stakeholder group in our society. It We have used our knowledge and experience of, and connections with young people to support organisations and professionals in the public sector to shape policy and services to meet the needs of young people. These partners have included NHS and Primary Care Trusts, Learning and Skills Council, Department for Culture, Media and Sport, and a number of individual Local Authorities.

Other Sectors and Partners

A wide range of organisations and professionals connect with young people on a daily basis. We have been able to support a number of organisations from across sectors to explore and better understand their relationship with young people, and how best to support young people to participate in services. These organisations have included: North East Mental Health Development Unit, Institute for Local Governance, Coast and Country Housing (Redcar and Cleveland), universities, colleges and schools, and more.
