A cohort of six young people took part in the most recent delivery of our Ladders Creative Employability Workshops.
The workshops, which were held at the Trade Union Congress in Newcastle at the end of June, are designed to help young people in the North East aged 16-24 with an interest in the creative sector to develop a range of skills and improve their chances of breaking into fields such as TV, digital media and film.
The group really enjoyed the sessions and expressed an interest in a range of jobs, including stunt performer, sound mixer, illustrator, actor and software engineer.
As well as gaining insight into a number of key skills valued by employers, including time management and teamworking, the group were also given guidance on how to put these skills into practice within a workplace setting.
The next employability workshops, which form part of Generator’s wider Ladders prorgamme, take place over two days on 15 and 16 July 2014, 8.30am-5pm at the Charles Avison Building on New Bridge Street in Newcastle. For more details contact Neil Burke on [email protected].
